The rota is a starting point
Knowing when and where to go is only part of preparing for a visit. A carer may also need the current care plan, today's tasks, medication information and notes from the previous visit. If those are scattered across different screens or systems, each person has to piece the visit together again.
The handover is easier when those records sit close to the visit on the rota. Staff can see what has changed before they arrive and know where to check the full record if they need more detail.
Show the record behind the summary
Before a visit, staff need to know who they are seeing, what is planned and what needs attention. They also need a direct route to the original care record. A short summary helps with preparation, but it should never be the only place to look.
CarerBook puts client details, care plans, tasks and visit records in the same workspace. Staff can move from the rota to the information they need without searching through separate tools.
Leave the next person a useful note
Once the visit is over, the record becomes the next person's starting point. A note should say what happened, when it happened and whether anything still needs doing. Linking it to the right client and visit makes it easier for a carer or manager to follow up.
The team still needs to check what was recorded and decide on the next action. Good tools make that work easier to do while the details are fresh.
